So, today’s post is especially exciting, because Bobbi is sharing her exclusive tips with us! In today’s beauty tutorial, learn Bobbi’s pro makeup tips for women over 30 and how to do a quick & easy makeup look. Plus, discover why her new makeup line, JONES ROAD<\/strong><\/a>, is quickly becoming one of my favorite non-toxic beauty brands for everyday wear.<\/p>\n

About Bobbi Brown<\/h3>\n

As a leader in the beauty industry, Bobbi Brown has been a celebrity makeup artist, bestselling author, public speaker, entrepreneur, and the founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics (which she sold several years ago to Est\u00e9e Lauder). She has since gone on to launch two recent brands, EVOLUTION_18<\/strong><\/a> (a wellness & supplement brand) and JONES ROAD<\/strong><\/a> (a non-toxic makeup brand).<\/p>\n

In addition to these ventures, she’s already written multiple books, including my favorite book, Bobbi Brown: The Ultimate Beauty Resource<\/strong><\/a>, and has recently hosted a series of online beauty videos for Masterclass<\/strong><\/a>, which I highly recommend watching. She’s best known for creating the “no-makeup makeup look” and for teaching makeup techniques that enhance a woman’s natural beauty.<\/p>\n

Pro Makeup Tips from Bobbi Brown<\/h3>\n

“As you age, your skin texture changes and often becomes much drier. Here are my tips to feel better than your age.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Hydration makes you look instantly better. Make sure you’re hydrated from the inside out – drink plenty of water and use the best combination of creams and balms for your skin type.<\/li>\n
  2. Instead of an all-over foundation, use a spot corrector to combat redness around the nose and any other spots that need to be covered. This will create a more natural, even skin tone. Don’t forget to add blush.<\/li>\n
  3. Wake up your eyes by using eye cream, a brightening undereye concealer (I use Jones Road face pencils<\/strong><\/a> for a seamless application), and two or three coats of super-black mascara.”<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Step 1:<\/strong> After applying your skincare and sunscreen, use a non-toxic makeup primer (such as the Yensa Beauty Essential Glow Tone Up Primer<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n

    Step 2:<\/strong> Using a small amount of brightening concealer (such as Yensa Beauty’s Skin on Skin Concealer<\/strong><\/a>), cover up any redness or imperfections and illuminate your eyes by putting a small amount on the inner and outer corners. Blend in with a clean finger or damp makeup sponge.<\/p>\n

    Step 3:<\/strong> Lightly dust a translucent setting powder (such as Lawless Seal The Deal Loose Setting Powder<\/strong><\/a>) onto these areas to set the makeup. Go lightly, as you want your skin to still look dewy and fresh.<\/p>\n

    Step 4:<\/strong> To lift your face and give you a healthy flushed look, apply a rosy blush (I’m using the bareMinerals<\/strong><\/a> Desert Bloom palette here) to the high part of your cheekbones, sweeping into the hairline.<\/p>\n

    Step 5:<\/strong> To make your eyes look more awake and refreshed, apply a small amount of JONES ROAD Just a Sec<\/strong><\/a> (in pewter) to the eyelids. This gives a hint of shimmer while brightening the eye area. What’s great about this eyeshadow is that it’s not as sparkly as some (which ages skin), but yet it still illuminates the eye area.<\/p>\n

    Step 6:<\/strong> For a bright-eyed look, apply a few coats of mascara (such as JONES ROAD The Mascara<\/strong><\/a>) to the upper lashes only. I necessary, use a lash comb in between coats to remove excess mascara for a smoother application.<\/p>\n

    Step 7:<\/strong> For the finishing touch, apply a swipe of lip gloss (like JONES ROAD Cool Gloss in Golden Shimmer<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n

    Clean Beauty: Facing The Future of Beauty & Wellness<\/h3>\n

    As a beauty blogger since 2011, I’ve tried all types of products. But, in recent years, I’ve evolved into a clean beauty advocate, as I’ve learned how ingredients affect our health and well-being. Because of this, I’ve switched to non-toxic, clean beauty brands for my daily use. And, I do my best to discover and share clean beauty brands with you.<\/p>\n

    As stated in a press release from Bobbi’s new brand, “JONES ROAD’s code of clean beauty means that all JONES ROAD products adhere to standards even more stringent than those set by the European Union and are made without 2,700 potentially toxic ingredients, including parabens, phthalates, sulfates, PEGs, cyclic silicones, BPA, and EDTA.”<\/p>\n

    As I shared in past clean beauty guides<\/strong><\/a> on I&C, the EU bans thousands of ingredients, whereas the USA only currently bans 12. This means, as consumers, we have to be aware of what we’re buying, because the lack of legislation here means that we could be (unknowingly) using beauty products that aren’t good for us in the long-run. My goal by sharing this is to educate and empower you to make wise decisions about your health and beauty. Knowledge is power!<\/p>\n

    The more you learn about which ingredients are used to produce your beauty products, hopefully, the more vigilant you’ll become in choosing better-for-you brands and products. I also believe that the more that we, as consumers, support clean beauty brands, the more that chemical-based brands will start to change their formulations. So, really – we’re shaping the future of the beauty industry through the power of our purchases.<\/p>\n
